    Ole Henriksen Review

I was so pleased when the company Ole Henriksen reached out to me about trying some of their new products. This is a company I’ve been interested in for a while and I am so thrilled to have this opportunity. Receiving the samples around the holidays felt like getting a wonderful and unexpected gift. I got the Balancing Force Oil Control Toner, Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum, C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème and the Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner which helps with evening out skin tone. Right away I tried the balancing toner since I’m always looking into to ways to combat my oily t-zone. I’ve been using this for a couple…

    Veriphy Review

I’ve been meaning to do this review for a while and I’m excited to talk about this Canadian skin care company. I met the founders of Veriphy Skincare at Cosmoprof. They were so kind and approachable! They gave me three full products to try, all of which help support women in STEM. They use high performance and scientifically backed ingredients, specifically PhytoSpherix® (phytoglycogen) according to their website:   “Harnessing the power of PhytoSpherix® (phytoglycogen), a revolutionary plant-based ingredient that delivers impactful clinical results, our products will energize your skin and reveal a revitalized and rejuvenated complexion, naturally.”          I started using their day moisturizer, face serum and eye cream under…

    Selia & Co Review

I came across Selia & Co at Cosmoprof in Las Vegas. I happened to stop by their booth and was quickly welcomed by the owner and her friend. I automatically liked the products just as much as I liked them. The owner was very sweet and helpfully explained the products to me, and gave me a sample of the rose & rooibos tea mask. The company is tea-based which speaks to me since I think tea is one of the greatest things ever! I drink it, mask in it and bathe in it–I seriously love it!  I loved the mask sample and how it made my skin feel clean and…

My All-Time Favorite Acne Fighting Products

I mention my battle with acne pretty frequently as well as what I try to do to combat it. After years of testing, experimenting with products and exhausting all my options I thought, why not share my findings with the world? These are the products I go back to most often in my battle with my face enemy, i.e. acne, zits, life ruiners, or whatever you want to call them.   Tretinoin Cream: Tretinoin cream is the crown jewel in my skincare regime. It’s a reliable treatment that almost ALL dermatologists recommend for acne and anti-aging–it prevents acne and wrinkles! Not to mention it diminishes the appearance of scars and…

    Wi Spa Review

After a hectic few weeks of non-stop activity I felt the need to decompress, and for this, I went to Wi Spa, a 24-hour Korean day spa in Los Angeles. It’s a big place offering lots of different treatments and I looked forward to sampling as many as I could cram into a day of relaxation.   Wi Spa occupies four floors at their Koreatown location in Los Angeles. They have a separate floor for Men and women, with saunas, steam rooms, treatments areas, lockers and jacuzzis on each one. The middle floor is coed with a lounge area where you can schmooze and eat lunch, and 5 saunas and…

    JKsommune Enzyme Cleansing Powder Review

JKosmmune  is a Korean skincare company that I discovered a while ago but I didn’t get a chance to try their products until Cosmoprof Las Vegas Convention. There I met the representatives of the company who were so kind and enthusiastic! They offered me a sample of their very popular enzyme cleansing powder packets. The skincare company prides themselves on using only the best ingredients without any fillers. They also use Beta-glucan as the main ingredient in their products which according to their website is: ” Beta-glucan is a natural biopolymer derived from mushrooms, yeast, alga, and plants… …beta-glucan reduces wrinkle, skin irritation by 40%, shows a visible brightening of the skin tone after…

    Nacific Review

At Cosmoprof in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago, the world of skin care and beauty products that I thought I knew about increased exponentially (get it? EXPO-nentially? Never mind, lol.). So many new companies to explore! Among them was Nacific, a Korean skincare brand. The reps generously gave me three full-sized products in their “Greenpair Plus Clear” line–a toner, a serum and a clear cream (which is more like a gel). The Greenpair Plus Clear line of products focuses on sensitive, irritable, acne-prone dry skin. The main ingredient is Green Cica 3 aka Centella Asiatica, a plant that grows in Asia and has culinary and medicinal uses. It…

    The Konjac Sponge Review

A couple of weeks ago The Konjac Sponge Company reached out to me and generously sent three of their sponges. Konjac Sponges have been on my radar for a while and I am thrilled to actually try them out. Now that I have tried them, I’m kind of obsessed! The sponge’s claim is that it helps clean up your skin even without a cleanser. For me, just using the sponge as a tool to wash my face is very relaxing.   The sponge is dry and hard in its packaging, but after it’s been soaked in water it turns soft and pliable. I washed my face with the sponge and…

    Midflower Review

At Beautycon LA a couple of weeks ago, I checked out a company called Midflower. They specialize in sheet face masks, of which I am a huge fan, and they very generously gifted me with their four-pack mask set. I couldn’t wait to get home and sample the goods.   The 001 peel mask is meant to be a layered peel that you put on after you peel off the top layer and let the middle one sit and dry on your skin. It has rosewater as its only ingredient and according to the website “The mask binds tightly to dead skin cells while nanofibers drive rose water essence…

    Commleaf Rose Sleeping Mask Review

Last week I got the opportunity to go to Cosmoprof Las Vegas. It was such an amazing time and I got to meet awesome people and learn about what’s new in the beauty industry.   I was lucky enough to get some really great gifts. One was the Rose Sleeping Mask by Commleaf a Korean skincare company. I’ve been hearing some good things about it so I was excited to try it out.   The ingredient list is pretty impressive since its 75% roses. An applicator is included and I like that it made it easy to apply with no mess. The mask does not have such a strong smell,…
