Beauty Babble #34 Old Fashioned Sara

New day, new #beautybabble with Sara, who has a pretty impressive Instagram showcasing her skincare and beauty products in a very artistic way. Follow her @offdutydiary for photos and short reviews on what she uses.

BB: Tell me, what are your all-time favorite beauty products for face, body, and hair?

S: This is so hard! For face — it has to be Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream because it has been my HG moisturizer forever. Also, Biologique Recherche Lotion P50. Finding P50 and Ceramidin completely changed my skin and started me down this skincare obsessed rabbit hole.

For body — Paula’s Choice Resist Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% AHA. This lotion has been an absolutely gamechanger for my KP/chicken skin (you know, those rough bumpy patches that some people get on the backs of their arms) …with regular use those bumps have completely disappeared.

For hair — it’s Kristin Ess Dry Finish Working Texture Spray. Basically a cheaper version of the Oribe texture spray. I was out of this stuff for a while and recently repurchased…wow…I forgot how good this stuff is.

BB: Great selection! When you get the chance to be alone, what is your favorite thing to do for self-care?

S: Ugh! I am the WORST at picking favorites but this is an easier one. Whenever my husband is out of town or I know will be home late, the first thing I do is draw a hot bath and fill it with Epsom salts and Aromatherapy Associates bath oil. I put on a mask (either a detoxifying mask if my skin is looking rough/broken out or a hydrating sheet mask), pour a glass of red wine, put on a good podcast or book, and soak. A good bath does wonders for my mood.

BB: YAASSS that all sounds amazing! I love podcasts and would love recommendations. Here’s the third and trickiest question: If you were a food or drink what would you be?
S: The first thing that comes to mind is an Old Fashioned (with bourbon, not rye). It’s complex yet well-balanced, spicy and sweet, and requires a refined palette to be enjoyed. The perfect Old Fashioned will have a bit of a bite (just enough to encourage you to sip–never gulp) and will NEVER have more than 2 ice cubes.

I loved your answers, Sara! Thank you for being so descriptive and taking the time to fill this out!
