Beauty Babble #18 May Garlic

Today’s #beautybabble is a very exciting one! I am honored to interview May Lindstrom. She is a businesswoman who created an amazing luxury skincare company that focuses on unadulterated natural ingredients.  Read her story and shop at, and follow her on @maylindstromskin.

BB: Tell me, what are your all-time favorite beauty products for face, body, and hair?

M: Face:

The Blue Cocoon, May Lindstrom Skin. This is my ultimate hero and has a permanent spot in my purse—and another in my bathroom and on my nightstand. Besides being the most gorgeous hydration and healing source of all time, The Blue Cocoon is beautiful under makeup or a bit over the top to add glow, as an eye and lip treatment, run through my hair to smooth flyaways, to define my curls, and to envelop me in the most beautiful scent. The powerhouse ingredient is blue tansy and it does as much for my mood as it does for skin. Blue tansy is used in aromatherapy for relieving stress and anxiety, healing sleep disorders, managing anger and the feeling of being out of control. It’s total magic.

I love our multi-tasking cleansing oil, The Pendulum Potion as a head to toe experience. I apply this treasure on wet skin after bathing to drench myself in a gorgeous aromatic experience. As I massage the fragrant oils into my skin, I literally imagine myself as a tree, breathing deeply and letting the sensations flow through me. The aromas of spice, earth, and sacred forest and fire ground me like no other. It also has a smoky, green (a few clients have mentioned marijuana-esque!), campfire essence to it that I think pairs beautifully with our raw cacao, macadamia, sweet orange, ylang-ylang, and frankincense. It is no doubt distinctive, and I’m obsessed.

Reverie. I LOVE their leave-in Milk that can be used wet or dry. It’s a brilliant formula and I don’t ever wash my hair without following with this. I’ve turned so many people onto it I should be their spokesperson! And of course… I also love to run a bit of The Pendulum Potion or The Blue Cocoon through the hair to maintain health and shine and add moisture.

BB: I will definitely check out those products! When you get the chance to be alone, what is your favorite thing to do for self-care?

M: Sleep – and it’s definitely something lacking at the moment. Naps have become a serious luxury and I treasure them. A soft bed, clean sheets, dark sleep mask, nice oils by the bedside… I can have the perfect getaway in my own home in the middle of the day if I consciously make space for it. Outside of that – regular massages. An absolute must, no compromises.

BB: Naps and massages are my two favorite things right after pasta! Here’s the third and trickiest question: If you were a food or drink what would you be?

M: Garlic! I know that’s a funny one, but I just love the fact that one unassuming bulb has such incredibly mighty healing powers. If I can bring anything like this to the world, I’d consider this a win. Power isn’t always pretty and glamorous, and this hero reminds us to go deeper and not be scared of a little heat to get what we need.

Thank you, May Lindstrom, for sharing your insights with Beauty Babble! Garlic is a major food group where I come from and I totally agree with your assessment of its powers. Thank you again for the support.
