Beauty Babble #16 Ramen Mariève

This week’s #beautybabble is Mariève, a beauty journalist and illustrator; you can follow her @by.minoue. She draws beautiful illustrations of beauty products which  I absolutely love! Also, she writes about beauty and is a fellow cat lover!!

BB: Tell me, what are your all-time favorite beauty products for face, body, and hair?

M: As a beauty journalist, I get to try out so many different products, and as you can imagine, I have many, many favorites. Here are some of my current picks.

Face: Caudalie Vinoperfect Concentrated Brightening Essence, which really helps give my skin a pretty glow thanks to its glycolic acid, white peony extract, and Caudalie grape water. I love everything about it!

Body: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, which is an amazing basic moisturizer with ceramides and hyaluronic acid. It won’t break the bank, and is very effective! It’s nice and thick but gets absorbed instantly into the skin. I use it on my legs after shaving, to moisturize my feet, on my hands before bed, and on my face after exfoliating or when I just want a good layer of moisture. I always keep a tub of it around!

Hair: I’m really into hair oils, and I’ve tried so many of them, but my all-time favorite is Shu Uemura Art of Hair Essence Absolue Nourishing Hair Oil. It smells heavenly, smooths out frizz, and really nourishes my strands, leaving my hair nice and silky.

BB: I love Caudalie! When you get the chance to be alone, what is your favorite thing to do for self-care?

M: I like to really go all out: have a bubble bath, light up a scented candle, exfoliate, and then follow up with a sheet mask and a thick, luxurious body cream. After that, I curl up in my super plush bathrobe and use my eye steamer to help me relax. Sometimes, my cat, Chababa, even comes to curl up with me, which makes the experience so much better!

BB: I’m relaxed just by reading that! Also, love your cat’s name:) Here’s the third and trickiest question: If you were a food what would you be?

M: That IS a tricky question… there are so many foods I like to eat! I think maybe I would be a bowl of ramen because it includes a nice mix of different ingredients and textures. I think that represents me fairly well, with all my different interests and obsessions (beauty products, music, languages, and figure skating to name just a few). I also like to imagine my cat sipping the ramen broth and playing with the noodles… 😉

Great answers! I too am a huge ramen fan! I really appreciate the time you spent answering the questions. Thank you so much for being a part of the Beauty Babble Interview Series!
